Good Morning Campers,

When Jill was in the giant’s castle, the nurse acted like she was being nice to her, bringing her toys and dolls.  However, the treatment didn’t make Jill feel happy because even though the giant was acting nice, she wasn’t listening to Jill or doing the things that Jill actually wanted.

Sometimes, people act kind, but don’t take the time to find out what the person they are trying to be kind to really needs.  The first step to showing kindness is to listen, and to learn what is best for the person you are being kind to.  If we just assume what a person wants, we often end up like the giant nurse: pretending to be nice but not actually helping anybody.
