Dear Narnian Families,
We have some unfortunate news to share. The rental property in Nanoose Bay where our camp has operated since 2011 has unexpectedly decided to make changes, and the site will no longer be available for Camp Narnia to use in the future. As of today, we are a camp without a home.
We recognize that this news will be upsetting for our campers, as this is very much the end of an era, and we say goodbye to the location of many wonderful memories. It is absolutely true that wherever camp settles next, things will look different. However, Camp Narnia has moved before, and each time we have succeeded in bringing the magic along with us.
We have every intention of continuing to run Camp Narnia, and we are hopeful that another location will become available for the approaching 2022 season. It is likely that we will need to change our registration schedule, and anticipate delaying the usual January 1st opening. There will be further updates included in this year’s winter newsletter. Our camp website at www.campnarnia.com/news will be kept up to date with the most recent official information.
If anybody in our community is aware of a location where we could operate our much loved community summer camp, please reach out directly by email or phone. We welcome all help and support as we try to identify a new property where we can continue to create a welcoming community for all children, build our program, and make magical childhood memories. We are so grateful for all of the love and support we receive from our community every year. As soon as we have concrete news, we will be in touch again.
