Teen
Camps
Our Teen Land welcomes teens, 13-15 years old,
to its special atmosphere in large canvas tents
complete with its own campfire spit and cookhouse.
Small groups of teens make close friends throughout
the week of activity, building meaningful connections
that last a lifetime.
Teen camp is a step beyond what the younger campers
experience. Teens are given more responsibility
and also more freedom, as they choose their activities,
each week creating a project that involves the
whole group's participation. In the “Giants
Kitchen”, a cookhouse with an antique, wood
fired stove, they prepare some of their own meals,
leading up to a sumptuous banquet on the last
night of camp. The teens experience all of the
traditional camp activities of the younger camper's
programs but there is the opportunity to build
more challenge into everything they do. Under
the competent leadership of their counsellors
skilled in working with teens, they can participate
in off-site hikes, and a day long canoe trip on
Shawnigan Lake. They also have key roles in the
Narnia drama and make entertaining contributions
to the weekly Talent Shows. Experience
teen camp>>.
There are 7-day Teen
Camps throughout the summer.

Leaders in Progress
The
Leaders In Progress (LIP) Program is an opportunity
for youth , 16 & 17 years old, to develop
their skills in working as recreational leaders
with children in a camp setting. The program takes
place over two summers, with the objectives to;
1) increase participants' skill and knowledge
about leadership and camp activities;
2) to develop good work attitudes and habits;
3) to become experienced in all aspects of Camp
Narnia's program of activities.
In their second year LIP's may follow the regular
LIP training activities or, may apply to volunteer
as a Counsellor In Training, where they will work
along side a cabin counsellor, leading campers
in activities.
The LIP Program is an excellent opportunity for
hands-on learning of the camp operations and provides
participants with valuable skills, preparing them
for work at this camp or other recreational leadership
settings.
